Western Balkans University successfully organized the 3rd edition of the Western Balkans Innovation Summit – WBIS 2026, hosted by the Faculty of Economics, Technology and Innovation (FETI).
The summit brought together academics, technology experts, business leaders, innovators, and students to explore the growing role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in shaping the future of the Western Balkans and beyond.
The event was officially opened by Rector Prof. Ferdinand Gjana, who highlighted the importance of academic platforms that connect students and professionals with the technologies and innovations transforming modern society.
Under the theme “AI and Challenges in the Ecosystem”, WBIS 2026 featured distinguished international and regional speakers from the fields of academia, finance, business, robotics, AI governance, and healthcare technology:

Through presentations and interactive discussions, participants explored the impact of artificial intelligence on decision-making, innovation ecosystems, investment strategies, robotics, healthcare technologies, governance, and the future of work.
The summit concluded with remarks from Prof. Agim Mamuti, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Technology and Innovation, who expressed appreciation to the speakers, participants, students, academic staff, and organizing team for contributing to the success of WBIS 2026.
The event reaffirmed Western Balkans University’s commitment to fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global perspectives through academic initiatives that prepare students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
